Revolut launches the “It's not Revolut calling” function in Poland. When someone opens the application during a conversation, a banner will appear on the screen with information whether the interlocutor is a bank or a person impersonating a consultant.

Revolut introduces new warnings against fraudsters impersonating a bank. The “It's not Revolut calling” function is supposed to appear when the user is on a phone call and opens the application during it. A banner will appear at the top of the screen to confirm whether the caller is actually a Revolut consultant or someone pretending to be a financial institution.
This is a response to the growing scale of “fake calls from the bank”. As CERT Polska describes, criminals can argue that the account is at risk and the only solution is a quick transfer to a “secure account” or providing sensitive data. In the background, there is also impersonation of institution numbers, i.e. the so-called CLI spoofing. As we read in a message on Gov.pl, a victim who sees a familiar number may assume that it is a bank or other trusted institution calling, which makes social engineering easier.
Revolut emphasizes that the mechanism is to work contextually and in real time, also for voice calls via instant messaging. After tapping the banner, the user will be taken to the security section with instructions and options for securing the account and reporting the incident. The company argues that this is important because the warning is supposed to appear exactly when the fraudster tries to force action in the application.
The bank also points to the increasingly common use of AI tools, including voice cloning. Researchers from Queen Mary University of London, in work published in 2025 in “PLOS ONE”, showed that voice clones can sound so realistic that some listeners have trouble distinguishing them from recordings of real people.
“As fraudsters use artificial intelligence and sophisticated social engineering tools, we must innovate just as quickly to protect our customers,” said Rami Kalai, Product Owner at Revolut, in a statement.
According to the company, the feature is available to customers in the EEA and the UK after a pilot in December 2025. On iOS devices, it is expected to work automatically for customers in the UK and EEA countries, except Spain. On Android, users must enable it in the Security Center. Revolut states that it has over 65 million customers worldwide, and 5 million people use it in Poland. The company also declares that in 2024 it prevented potential customer losses due to fraud amounting to over £600 million. Previous security solutions include: In-App Calls, i.e. support conversations conducted inside the application.
