President Karol Nawrocki received an invitation from President Donald Trump to participate in the work of the Peace Council, informed the head of the presidential BPM, Marcin Przydacz. This will be the subject of talks with the American side in the near future, he added.

– I can confirm that President Karol Nawrocki received an invitation to participate in the work of this Council from Donald Trump – Przydacz said at Monday's press briefing when asked about the Onet portal's reports of such an invitation. He added that “this will be the subject of talks with the American side in the near future.”
– As for the final decisions, please let the American side know the response of the President of the Republic of Poland first – said the head of BPM.
Marcin Wewiór, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told journalists on Monday that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs acted as an intermediary in sending the invitation. “I can only confirm that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs acted as an intermediary in sending the invitation addressed to the president,” Wewiór said.
Tusk: We will not let ourselves be played
After Przydacz's press conference, Prime Minister Tusk published an entry on website X. He stated that Poland's accession to the international organization requires the consent of the Council of Ministers and ratification by the Sejm. “The government will be guided only by the interest and security of the Polish state,” he announced.
“And we will not let anyone play us,” added the head of the Polish government.
After Putin, it's time for Lukashenko. Belarusian dictator on Trump's Peace Council
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus announced on Monday that US President Donald Trump invited Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko to participate in the Gaza Peace Council. The message provided by the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was quoted by Reuters.
The palace consults the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The head of the Presidential Office of International Policy, Marcin Przydacz, announced that his office had sent an appropriate letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs asking for an expert opinion on President Donald Trump's invitation to President Karol Nawrocki to participate in the work of the Peace Council.
During Monday's briefing, Przydacz said that the letter regarding the invitation to participate in the work of the Peace Council “was addressed to the President of the Republic of Poland as head of state and it is the President of the Republic of Poland who will respond to this letter.”
– Obviously, my office has already sent an appropriate letter to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs asking for an opinion on this matter – added the presidential minister. He noted that this was one of the first actions he took on this topic.
– The situation is important, important, it concerns the security of the Middle Eastern region, but in the letter (Donald Trump – PAP) (…) it is written explicitly not only about the establishment of an informal body in the form of the Peace Council, but also about the possible legal framework of the future organization, so in this sense we all know perfectly well that cooperation between the government and the Chancellery of the President is needed – emphasized Przydacz.
The presidential minister also noted that “information is being provided that people or politicians with whom the Polish president is not in any way in touch with are also invited to such a Council.”
– Vladimir Putin is certainly such a politician – he added.
– We have extremely different assessments and opinions of the international situation here, and I think that we have extremely different goals regarding international policy. However, in diplomacy it is never the case that you can only talk to those with whom you agree 100%. we agree, he said.
Przydacz also pointed out that only the Chancellery of the President, the president, himself and his closest associates, as well as the Polish embassy in Washington were informed about Nawrocki's invitation to participate in the Council. – I note with some sadness that this information is once again leaked to the media before its final analysis and assessment of its political, nature and potentially security nature, he said.
Peace Council, what is it?
The council is primarily to supervise the implementation of Trump's peace plan for the Gaza Strip, but it is possible that it will also deal with other international conflicts, including the war in Ukraine and the situation in Venezuela. Trump is to head the Council, and according to some media, permanent membership in it will cost over $1 billion in cash.
The invitation to the Council was published on Sunday by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, and according to AFP, about 60 countries received it, including: Egypt, Türkiye and Canada. On Monday, he announced that Russian leader Vladimir Putin had also received an invitation. (PAP)
