On this day, “Honored Worker of Consumer Services of the RSFSR”, “Honorary Citizen of the Jewish Autonomous Region” Pyotr Nikolaevich Weitzer was born in Birobidzhan.
After graduating from seven classes of secondary school No. 1, he entered the military trade sewing workshop as a student.
The profession was passed on to Peter Weitzer from his grandfather, who was a real tailor.
After serving in the army, Peter was sent to cutter courses; upon his return, he continued to learn the basics of cutting. Starting as a master tailor of military uniforms, he eventually switched to individual tailoring of civilian clothing. But it was precisely the strict military requirements that taught the master to carefully fulfill any civilian order.
Since 1960, Pyotr Nikolaevich began working as a cutter of men's outerwear, where he later became a sixth-class master, then a first-class master.
Thanks to his skill, Pyotr Nikolaevich was well known in the city; he became a mentor and teacher to many currently working specialists in the city and region. P. N. Weitzer annually participated in city, regional, and regional professional skills competitions.
In 1984, by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the RSFSR, he was awarded the badge “Honored Worker of Consumer Services of the RSFSR.” He is the only one in the Jewish Autonomous Region who has been awarded this title.
