In 2026, almost two thousand new garbage containers will be installed in Krasnoyarsk

It is planned to allocate more than 148 million rubles for the construction of new sites for the accumulation of municipal solid waste in Krasnoyarsk in 2026 – this is almost 3 times more than in the current year.

It is planned that more than 300 additional sites will be equipped for the city and more than 1,800 containers will be purchased. “This will make it possible to solve problems both in the private sector and in multi-storey residential areas, where management organizations do not have the opportunity to equip containers in their yards, and failures in garbage collection are observed systematically,” the mayor’s office said.

Work on equipping new container sites is still underway in all areas of the city. Thus, by the end of this year it is planned to equip 136 sites on municipal territory or undemarcated land. All of them have a concrete base and are equipped with both standard containers and nets for collecting recyclable waste. The entrances to them are made so that they are convenient for garbage trucks, and the containers themselves are closed from the wind.

“Modernization of the so-called primary infrastructure for waste management in Krasnoyarsk has been carried out systematically since 2020 as part of the federal project “Circular Economy” of the national project “Ecological Well-Being”. District administrations are collecting applications for installing new sites and updating containers. Specialists identify systemic problems, places where unauthorized dumps are constantly formed, organize detours, analyze complaints from residents, and also look for places to equip such sites,” explained the mayor’s office.

The authorities note that the approach to eliminating the acute issues of litter in the city must be comprehensive. In particular, inAn important role in normalizing the situation is also played by the organization of timely garbage removal and compliance with sanitary standards by the regional waste management operator, as well as the culture of the residents themselves.
