Business and Money. The economy from behind the scenes in the new Business Insider podcast

Business and Money is an offer for those who want to understand economic reality without having to go through the hermetic language of experts or a flood of news. The authors will analyze the most important economic events – both in Poland and around the world – in an understandable language. and also look behind the scenes of issues that have a real impact on Polish wallets.
What really determines how much we pay at the gas station, how loan installments increase and why prices in stores sometimes change faster than we expect? These are just some of the questions that Business Insider journalists will try to answer in their weekly format, where numbers and data will be linked to the decisions and motives behind them.
Where did this idea come from?
The concept of a podcast grows out of the pace at which the world is changing today. Decisions are made quickly, and globalization means that we feel their effects immediately – as evidenced by the ongoing oil crisis. In such an environment, it is increasingly difficult to separate truly important information from those that only occupy attention. Business and Money is supposed to be the answer to this problem – an original attempt to select and organize the most important phenomena in an accessible form that allows you to understand what is happening here and now.
The podcast will focus on trends that actually change everyday life. We will talk about tectonic movements in the global economy felt in stores, banks and gas stations, the authors announce. There will also be a discussion of national changes that shape Polish business and shape household budgets and personal finances.
Substantive, but without pomp
All this in a loose formula – one that allows you to understand even complex phenomena without the feeling of participating in an academic lecture.
The creators also immediately define what “Business and Money” will not be. The podcast will feature economic policy topics, but – as they emphasize – “we are not interested in party wars as long as they do not influence the most important decisions.” There will be data and indicators, but not in the form of difficult lectures. There will be topics related to investing and saving, but without promising “miracle” solutions with an exorbitant rate of return.
The light form does not mean simplification or superficiality. On the contrary – the ambition of the podcast is to responsibly explain economic mechanisms and show their real consequences for the audience. The format will cover topics that are “the talk of the town”, but it will not take the form of a media “mongrel”.
In times of information overload and rapid change, Business and Money aims to be a guide to the world of economics for everyone who wants to better understand what is happening around them – and why it matters for their everyday decisions.
What's in the first episode?
In the premiere episode of the podcast, the authors will talk about the Polish concept of rebuilding Ukraine, i.e. Andrzej Domański's economic mission in Kiev and what the Polish minister wants to do in Ukraine. There will also be a topic about the great investment of the Taiwanese in the Polish electric car project – and the fact that its bumpy road is only just beginning. They will also discuss the protracted CPN program and ways to fill the gap it has created in the budget, and reveal the behind-the-scenes of the talks regarding the National Bank of Poland and the dispute between NBP President Adam Glapiński and Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
