Szymon Hołownia in the government? Kosiniak-Kamysz calls for changes

According to the provisions of the coalition agreement this fall, Hołownia is to give way to the position of the Speaker of the Sejm, and its place will be taken by Włodzimierz Czarzasty, co -chairman of the new left. Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, when asked about this change, expressed the opinion that the ideal solution would be if the Polish leader 2050 took over the portfolio of the deputy prime minister. “It is best for all leaders to be in the government and fully responsible for its functioning,” he said.
He also emphasized that Hołownia, as the leader of the grouping, should receive not only the position of deputy prime minister, but also the leadership over one of the ministryAccording to Kosiniak-Kamysz, such a move would help in a transparent division of tasks and duties in the coalition. He added that such a change would not require the renegotiation of the current coalition agreement, but only requires a common sense approach.

Hołownia: I will not enter the government
However, the situation is complicated. Hołownia has repeatedly declared that he did not intend to join the government. Even in June, he assured that after the end of his term of office, as the Speaker of the Sejm, he intends to remain a “free political electron and MP of the Republic of Poland.” This firmness of the Polish leader 2050 can be a key problem for the solution proposed by Kosiniak-Kamysz.
Meanwhile, on Monday, Prime Minister Donald Tusk met with coalition leaders to discuss the government's reconstruction planned for July. At the meeting, he announced that he would soon present a draft new structure of the Council of Ministers. In his June expose, Tusk announced changes in the office, which, in addition to adapting its composition, would introduce “new faces”. Coalition leaders also decided to meet regularly during the Sejm meetings.
In the face of the reconstruction of the government, controversy arose around the current proportions of the division of power. Polski's politicians 2050 suggested that the new left currently has disproportionately many positions – four ministers, deputy prime minister and future Speaker of the Sejm. According to one of the Polish parliamentarians, 2050 “strength in parliament should correspond to the strength in the government”, which in his opinion is currently not preserved.
An additional complication for the government coalition is the end of cooperation between PSL and Poland 2050 as part of the third road. The coalition appointed before the election in 2023 was to include joint actions in four elections, but at the end of June the leaders of both groups announced its end. This is a divorce that can even make negotiations even more difficult for the new division of positions in the government.
