“When it comes to tax on capital profits, we are finalizing work at the Ministry of Finance. We want it to be a proposal taking into account other solutions that currently operate in the European Union and that it would be primarily focused on creating mechanisms for economic growth, so that there is many more investments in Poland” – said Domański.

“I think that in the coming days you can expect a message from the Ministry of Finance,” he added.

Changes in tax profits were in the so -called “100 specifics”, i.e. the election program of the Civic Coalition. Later, the Ministry of Finance has repeatedly announced that he was working on changes in this area.

Changes also in copper tax

Project regarding changes in the so -called Copper tax obtained an entry in the list of government work, next week the Ministry of Finance wants to start agreement on this issue – said the finance minister Andrzej Domański.

“As for copper tax – next week we go to the so -called arrangements, we already have an entry in the list of works. Here we proceed efficiently. We want to invest in copper extraction in Poland, we want to create conditions for the copper sector,” said Domański.

At the end of May, the Minister of Finance and the Minister of State Asset reported that the government is planning to reduce copper tax from 2026. Planned changes also assume the tax deduction mechanism incurred on investment expenditure. Within 10 years, the cost for the budget due to changes is to amount to PLN 10 billion.

Bank tax? They grass various types of conceptual work

There is no project in bank tax changes; But various conceptual work is underway in the Ministry of Finance – said Minister of Finance Andrzej Domański. The Minister of Finance assessed that credit action in Poland is concerned about both supply and demand.

“As for the banking tax, of course, various conceptual work is underway in the Ministry of Finance, websites that would like to remove one or another form of banking tax assets, whether pledge or green investments, claiming that this is extremely important from the point of view of economic growth. We hear these voices, of course, we have to remember about the stability of public finances,” said Domański.

“There are no changes, but in the Ministry of Finance we realize that this tax is a weight of any loan granted in Poland and this way can release a credit action. In my feeling, this is not the biggest problem, neither for the banking sector, or for credit action in Poland. Which is the main problem for credit action – I can't comment on it” – he added.

The Minister of Finance assessed that credit action in Poland is concerned about both supply and demand.

“The banking sector should not complain in my opinion. High interest rates maintained by the Monetary Policy Council mean that the profits of the sector are simply high. The credit action actually raises anxiety in Poland, both from the supply and demand.
