After the resounding victories in Rome, Sorana Cîrstea achieves a new historic performance in her career and it's not long until Roland Garros starts

The tennis player Sorana Cîrstea occupies the best place of her career, 18, in the world ranking of professional tennis players (WTA), published on Monday, writes Agerpres.
Cîrstea managed to jump 9 positions compared to the hierarchy two weeks ago, until now the best position occupied in her career was 21, in 2013. The jump takes place after Sorana managed to reach the semi-finals in Rome, passing among others the world number 1, Arina Sabalenka.
Cîrstea, 36 years old, is in the last season of his career.
Svitolina climbs to 7th place
The world podium is unchanged, with Sabalenka leading with a lead of over 1,200 points. Kazakhstan's Elena Rîbakina has almost 1,500 points more than Poland's Iga Swiatek.
Ukraine's Elina Svitolina has moved up three places to seventh. Svitolina won the Rome tournament after beating Coco Gauff.
Romania has three representatives in the top 100 in singles, apart from Sorana Cîrstea, Jaqueline Cristian, on 33 (down five places), and Gabriela Ruse, on 71 (down four positions).
The same three Romanians are in the top 100 also in doubles, Sorana Cîrstea on 79, Gabriela Ruse on 86 and Jaqueline Cristian on 93.
Cîrstea occupies a remarkable 11th place in the WTA Race ranking, which gives the participants to the Tournament of Champions at the end of the season.
