MTS installed new telecom equipment near the village of Znamenka, Minusinsk District, Krasnoyarsk Territory. High-speed Internet is now available on the section of the Yenisei federal highway and tourist locations nearby.
The coverage area included one of the famous attractions in the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory – Dumnaya Mountain. From its top there is a view of the Western Sayan and Yenisei ridges. According to legend, Vladimir Lenin stopped here on his way to exile in the village of Shushenskoye. Now a visitor center, an observation deck and a memorial stele indicating the distance to St. Petersburg have been installed on the mountain. Thanks to LTE, tourists will be able to download online maps, send photos to family and communicate on social networks.
MTS Director in the Krasnoyarsk Territory Sergei Yegoshin noted that the company continues to digitize popular places and routes to ensure communication even in remote places in the region. Last year, MTS strengthened its network in the vicinity of the Krasnoyarsk and Tubinsk reservoirs, on the beaches of the Big Lake and Lake Uchum, near the Badzheyskaya and Bolshaya Oreshnaya caves, at the eastern entrance to the Krasnoyarsk Pillars national park and in the Ergaki natural park.
Previously, MTS expanded 4G coverage in the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Residents of more than 40 settlements of the Minusinsk, Shushensky, Ermakovsky, Karatuzsky, Kuraginsky and Idrinsko-Krasnoturansky districts received access to the updated network.
