The Romanian drug factories Biofarm (Colebil, Cavit, Magnefort), sold to the Poles. Estimated purchase value

The Romanian pharmaceutical factories Biofarm, with a tradition of over 100 years, which produce popular drugs and supplements such as Colebil, Cavit or Magnefort, are to be sold to a Polish group, at a total transaction value of 260 million euros.
The group Zakłady Farmaceutyczne Polpharma SA (ZF Polpharma), a large Polish group, made an offer to the main shareholders of Biofarm, Longshield Investment Group SA (former SIF Muntenia) and Lion Capital SA (former SIF Banat-Crisana). The pharma group from Gdańsk wants to buy, at the price of 1,379 lei/sharethe stakes held by Longshield (51.67%) and Lion (36.74%) of Biofarm. In total, the two former SIFs would receive 1.2 billion lei from the Poles, for 88.4% of the Romanian drug and food supplement factories.
With the remaining 11.5% of the shares, owned by several individuals and legal entities, the total purchase price may reach 1.36 billion lei (around EUR 260 million).
According to an information published on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, the Polish group Polpharma is going to make a public offer for the purchase of Biofarm shares, and the two major shareholders have committed to subscribe all the shares held, at the price of 1,379 lei/share.
