In several areas of the Capital, construction work has begun on new tram shelters that will be installed on the routes of several lines. The publication Club Feroviar writes that work is underway on six tram shelters on Exhibition Boulevard and has posted photos of the new stations.
The new platforms are designed by the company Porr Romania and from now on they will be installed on the approximately 50 km of double track tram line that is already being worked on or on which the start order is expected to be issued by Bucharest City Hall.
The standard variant will be used on all sections that are now being upgraded and those that follow. The first such shelters are under construction on Exhibition Boulevard, where Porr Romania works.
Which sections are being worked on?
- Lot 1 “Rehabilitation of the road system on Bd. Th. Pallady, Bd. 1 Decembrie 1918, Bd. Basarabia, Calea Călărașilor, Bd. Corneliu Coposu, Bucla Titan” (18 km, the longest, builder Porr Romania),

- Lot 9 on Chisinau Boulevard (825 m double track, builder Mari Vila Com),
- Lot 10 “Rehabilitation of the road system on B-dul Bessarabia from the intersection with B-dul 1 Decembrie 1918 to the end of the Republica terminal” (1.2 km, Mari Vila Com) and
- Lot 11 “Rehabilitation of the road system on Exhibition Boulevard, Aviator Popișteanu Street, Puțul lui Crăciun Street, Dornei Street and Clăbucet Street” (2 km, Porr Romania).
Six of the eight platforms that will be in total on this lot are completed at curb and foundation level. The first shelters for passengers will be delivered at the end of this month, say those from Porr Romania.
