Crin Antonescu welcomes Nicușor Dan's speech on Europe Day. “He did not comply with the hysterical orders of the Bolshevik pack”

The former president of PNL Crin Antonescu said that he was pleasantly surprised by President Nicușor Dan's speech on Europe Day, in which he spoke about “Europe's mistakes”. Antonescu claims that it is a sign of hope, along with the fact that Dan would not have complied with the orders of the “allegedly reforming Bolshevik pack”.

“I am happy with the communication today, on Europe Day, by the President of Romania. I welcome with pleasant surprise the fact that Mr. Nicușor Dan is speaking, for the first time in history, from Cotroceni, about the mistakes of Europe”, wrote Crin Antonescu, in a post on Faccebook.

Antonescu claims that the president's message is one of the signs that “give hope” regarding the performance of Nicușor Dan in Cotroceni.

“Together with the answer given to the question about the DNA in Mrs. Kovesi's mandate (a timid answer, but which shows at least a precious dose of common sense), together with the fact that she did not comply with the hysterical “orders” of the supposedly “reforming” Bolshevik pack or with the fact that she is trying to find a rational balance in the internal political crisis, these are signs that give hope and I have not the slightest hesitation to welcome them”, continued Crin Antonescu.

Kovesi, retaliation for Nicușor Dan

The reference to Kovesi refers to an earlier statement by President Nicușor Dan who said he was “inclined to believe” that abuses were committed during the time DNA was led by the current head of the European Public Prosecutor's Office.

Her reply came in an interview published on Friday by Context.ro.

“The fact that you got a good score at international math Olympiads does not qualify you to make other statements. And certainly the position of president of Romania is a difficult, stressful, tiring position. I wish the president a lot of sleep, a good sleep. The country needs him to come back in good shape,” commented Kovesi.

The president takes stock of the EU's mistakes

Regarding “Europe's mistakes”, Antonescu's comment refers to the press statement made by Nicușor Dan on the occasion of Europe Day.

“When it gave up nuclear and based its energy on cheap gas from Russia, that was a mistake. When it neglected its defense industry, it was a mistake. When in environmental policy, obviously justified, it set some far too ambitious targets, it affected its heavy industry, and that was a mistake. When on several subjects it acted ideologically, it was a mistake. But Europe is a democratic construction and all these are occasions for debate with the cards on the table inside the European institutions”, said Nicușor Dan.
