Russia has a big problem. The recruitment crisis in the army is deepening
Despite the growing pressure and dramatic needs of the army, interest in serving is decreasing. According to “Rz” in Ukraine Thousands of Russian soldiers are killed or injured every month, which effectively discourages potential candidates.
So far, the authorities have partially coped with the problem by offering very high financial bonuses at the regional level. In some parts of Russia, the amounts for joining the army reached the equivalent of as much as PLN 130,000–170,000. PLN, and on average they amounted to over 90 thousand. zloty. Now, however, local governments – often without notice – they limit these payments, which deepens the recruitment crisis.
At the same time, the Kremlin is strengthening discipline in the armed forces. “Rzeczpospolita” points out that the army has tightened the regulations regarding arbitrary leaving the unit: Currently, a two-day absence of a soldier is to be treated as a serious violation, whereas previously the limit was ten days.

The autumn recruitment will last until the end of December. The goal is to conscript 135,000 people into the army. recruits. According to the daily, even if the plan is not fully implemented, the army will still gain several thousand new soldiers – which will compensate for the falling interest in voluntary enlistment.
