On Wednesday in the Sejm, Zbigniew Stawicki, deputy minister of finance and deputy head of the National Tax Administration, answered a question from MPs regarding the coverage of clothing and footwear in the SENT system. From March 17, entrepreneurs must report the transport of clothing and footwear to the SENT system if more than 10 kg of clothing and 20 items of goods (e.g. shoes) are transported.

We found it necessary to cover the sector with the SENT system, as we cannot combat or limit pathologies in this sector with inspections alone, said Stawicki. – We estimate the share of the gray zone in the clothing and footwear trade at 10 to 20 percent. market – he added.

The deputy minister said that most empty invoices are detected in this industry. He added that during one of the last inspections, the tax services detected empty invoices worth PLN 200 million.

We monitor what happens after implementing these solutions and after the first period of operation and after achieving preventive goals, the Ministry of Finance took decisions in relation to entrepreneurs conducting business activity – said the deputy head of the National Revenue Administration.

He explained that liberalization was prepared on the basis of an analysis of the operating conditions of the smallest entrepreneurs, especially those who trade in bazaars and marketplaces.

– We propose liberalization by increasing the weight of transported goods to 300 kg or 300 pieces of footwear, when transported over a distance of 50 km – said the deputy minister. – This regulation is likely to come into force in the next week or two – said Stawicki. (PAP)
