The State Duma proposed paying the 13th salary by May 1

May 1 11:30

The State Duma proposed obliging employers to pay the thirteenth salary before May Day. This initiative was made by a group of deputies from the “A Just Russia” faction, led by Sergei Mironov. This is reported by TASS, which has obtained the text of the bill.

The authors of the idea want to amend the Labor Code of the Russian Federation. According to the document, by May 1, each employee must receive a bonus in the amount of their average monthly earnings.

In the explanatory note, parliamentarians noted that today's legislation does not force companies to encourage employees to celebrate holidays. Everything remains at the discretion of the authorities: if he wants, he pays, if he wants, he doesn’t. The bill aims to correct this injustice.
