“Grandma, sit down!”: Ukrainian army evacuated an elderly woman from the “gray zone” with the help of a ground robot

According to the information provided by the representatives of the 3rd Army Corps, the intervention began after the pilots of the 60th Mechanized Brigade noticed the woman moving on a road destroyed by bombings.

To get her safely out of the conflict zone, the military used a robotic system, reports focus.ua.

“Soldiers from the unmanned ground systems company Cerberus intervened. In order not to scare the woman, the robotic complex was covered with a blanket on which was written the message: “Grandma, get on!”, it is stated in the official statement.

The evacuated woman had lived for 53 years in her own house, which was later destroyed by the Russian army. The whole operation took about four hours.

In parallel, three other civilians who left the area on foot were guided by drones to the evacuation point. After reaching an armored vehicle, the soldiers of the 1st Mechanized Battalion transported them outside the combat zone and handed them over to the representatives of the brigade's central military structures.

The Ukrainian military calls on civilians near the front to evacuate in time to avoid similar situations.

This is not the first intervention of this type. Previously, the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to rescue a wounded soldier with the help of a ground robot after 33 days, despite several failed attempts and extremely dangerous conditions, i.e. mines and drones that were in the way.

Later, it was learned how the Ukrainian army evacuated animals with the help of drones. Soldiers from the Independent Mechanized Brigade no. 14, they rescued and sheltered a cat and a dog in a safe place, removing them from “front line” with the help of a drone.
