The report says that one of these letters was received by the President of the Ukrainian National Union of Canada, Yuriy Klufas.
“In it [письме] there was talk of a request from the supposed head of the President’s Office “to provide active media and information support” for the return of Ukrainian citizens to their homeland,” the press service clarified.
As it was established, the letter was sent not from an official email address, but from a mailbox registered on a commercial mail service – [email protected]. In addition, the signature in the letter does not belong to Kirill Budanov.
Context
Budanov headed the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine until 2026.
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky appointed Budanov to the post of head of the OP on January 2. The Financial Times wrote, citing sources, that Zelensky had been persistently persuading Budanov to head the Office of the President for a month.
