For the successes achieved in the development of livestock farming, increasing the production and procurement of meat, milk, eggs, wool and other products, by Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, the title of Hero of Socialist Labor was awarded to V. I. Peller, the chairman of the collective farm “Zavety Ilyich” of the Birobidzhan region of the Jewish Autonomous Region.

The Bureau of the Regional Committee of the CPSU considered the issue “On the organizational work of the Lenin District Committee of the CPSU in the selection and education of link workers for growing crops on state farms and the Trudovaya Niva collective farm.” The adopted resolution obliged the CPSU district committee to increase the responsibility of party organizations, state and collective farm leaders for strengthening the link system of labor, carefully selecting link workers, to take measures to consolidate them and create the necessary conditions for them to improve professional skills.

The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” (12+) in the section “In our region” wrote about preparations for the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Great October Revolution.
The Obluchensky Railway Club regularly holds lectures “60 Heroic Years” (6+). The last lesson was dedicated to P.P. Postyshev, an oral journal was held called “The Leninist Guard of the Country” (6+), conversations and lectures take place in the red corners of the carriage and locomotive depot.
The newspaper informs that a practical conference of teachers and masters of industrial training of vocational schools in the region took place. The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” wrote on March 22, 1983 that the tenth regional reporting and election conference of the Nature Conservation Society took place in Birobidzhan.
The chairman of the regional council of the society, V.A., spoke about the organization’s activities over the past two years. Komlev. It was noted that the work of school forestries has intensified. Society activists are fighting poaching and violators of forest and water laws. Much attention is paid to promoting environmental knowledge among the population. Mass events such as forest and garden weeks (6+), months for the protection of spawning reservoirs (6+), and bird days (6+) have become traditional. There are 11 film lecture halls (6+) on nature conservation in clubs and houses of culture in the region. The publication of special pages and collections in regional and district newspapers and radio broadcasts became systematic.
At the conference, much attention was paid to environmental problems. It was noted that the construction of treatment facilities in the villages of Leninskoye, Bashmak, and the village of Aur is being carried out at a low pace. Much attention at the conference was paid to the rational use of land.
