
There are different leadership groups created to coordinate positions and share information, he said. Starmer himself emphasized that he is not an active supporter of WhatsApp, since “endless discussions” often take place in such chats.
He noted that modern diplomacy is based on a combination of different communication formats – personal meetings, telephone conversations and digital communication channels.
“A lot of it happens face to face, a lot of it happens on the phone. I think you have to build personal relationships and be able to pick up the phone and intuitively understand how someone will react or where they're leaning,” Starmer said.
The British Prime Minister added that one of the most active participants in such WhatsApp groups is the President of Finland, Alexander Stubb, who, according to him, organizes interaction between leaders well.
