“Once my cousin and I, when we were little, got ready to go to church to bless a basket at 4.00. We really wanted to go, so we persuaded our grandfather to take us to the service. But we were so sleepy that while we were waiting for the priest, we fell asleep on a bench. The priest laughed and generously blessed us with water,” she shared her memories.
This year, according to tradition, the presenter’s large family will gather with her grandparents for Easter – in addition to the holiday, they also plan to celebrate the 90th birthday of the presenter’s grandfather.
“In fact, his relatives were there back in February, but due to severe cold and lack of light, they postponed the celebration to spring. We will gather with our large family, all the children and grandchildren will come from all over the world. My sister Toma came from Italy to congratulate my grandfather and celebrate this bright holiday with my family,” the presenter admitted.
In 2023, on the eve of Easter, Zoriy admitted that in her family, on Easter, women always washed their faces with lovage infusion.
“The most memorable tradition from childhood is washing with lovage infusion. My mother and grandmother made an infusion from this plant in the morning: they put several branches in warm water and said that if you wash your face with this on Easter, you will be happy in love, like lovage. Judging by my marriage, the ritual worked,” Zoriy said then.
Context
Zoriy is the wife of ex-Minister of Defense of Ukraine Alexei Reznikov. They got married in the summer of 2020.
