The Ryanair airline is preparing to reduce another million places next year on the routes of ZI to Spain, primarily with regional airports – announced in a Friday interview for the British daily Financial Times, the president of the carrier Michael O'Leary.

Ryanair's boss opposes the 6.5 % increase in fees announced by the operator of Spanish Aena airports, in which the majority of shares belong to the Spanish government.
The airlines that accuse the operator of the monopoly have previously decided to reduce in the whole of 2025 about 2 million places in connections with regional airports in Spain. However, the carrier plans to increase the number of places on routes covering larger centers, such as Madrid or Barcelona.
At the beginning of September, Ryanair announced that in the winter season he would not serve connections with airports in Jerez, Valladolid, Vigo and the port of Tenerife Norte, including In Santiago de Compostela and Saragossa it will significantly reduce the number of places.
Aena rejects the carrier's allegations, calling his actions “dishonest” and “insolent”. The Spanish Minister of Transport Oscar Puente, in turn, accused the airlines of “blackmail”.
“Ryanair is currently transporting more passengers to Spanish than any other airline, including the flagship domestic Iberia carrier” – noted “FT”. “Spain is the second largest market for Ryanair after Italy, responsible for 18 percent of his revenues in the financial year 2025 to March 31,” wrote the daily.
This is not the first dispute between the Irish Airlines and the Spanish government, which last year He imposed on several carriers, including Ryanair, a multi -million penalty, among others for charging for larger hand luggage. In June this year The Spanish court temporarily suspended the penalty until the final decision was issued.
Ryanair supports connections between Poland and many Spanish airports, including in Madrid, Barcelona, Alicante, Malaga, Valencia or Palma in Majorca. (PAP)
