Ponta, heard in the file of photos from the 2025 presidential campaign: “DIICOT detected those who participated in the falsification of the photos”
Former Prime Minister Victor Ponta announced on Friday, April 3, on Facebook, that he was heard at DIICOT, as an injured party, in a case concerning the controversial photos that appeared in the 2025 presidential campaign. The case is related to the images presented last year by Elena Lasconi, in which Victor Ponta, Nicușor Dan and Florian Coldea appeared, in an alleged meeting.

At the time, Ponta and Nicușor Dan claimed that the photos were fake, and Florian Coldea categorized the situation as “a desperate attempt”.
The former prime minister says that investigators have made significant progress in this case.
“DIICOT detected those who participated in the falsification of the pictures (…) They have four suspects: three young and one older”, declared Ponta, stating that he did not know them, but that he was waiting to establish who was behind the operation.
In a message published on Facebook, he claimed that the images would have influenced the outcome of the elections and asked for clarification on the people who would have financed and organized the action.
“It's not just about falsified pictures, I'm waiting for the four to say who hired them, who paid them. We know who benefited from this. Who are the ones who made a fool of Madame Lasconi. Romania's history has changed and I want to find out what happened there.” the former prime minister also said in the video.
Hearing at DIICOT and reactions
The former prime minister reported that he was called to DIICOT on Friday.
At the same time, Ponta launched accusations against Elena Lasconi, suggesting that she was misled by people in her entourage.
“Where do you think I was today? At DIICOT. They called me, the injured party. Last year, at this time, Mrs. Lasconi appeared on Antena 3 with some pictures, three days before the elections: I caught Ponta and Nicușor Dan at Coldea, they meet in I don't know what house”. Of course it was a lie, only Mrs. Lasconi could believe that. But the next day I filed a criminal complaint. I know, you're going to tell me it's been almost a year,” Ponta said.
“It's really a bombshell! DIICOT detected those who participated in the falsification of the pictures from the election campaign — those presented by Elena Lasconi on Antena 3, 3 days before the 1st round of the presidential elections! Now I'm even more convinced that Lasconi was just the “useful idiot”; those around her tricked her with those pictures (and now they have received important positions in the Government from the USR as a reward). Lasconi lost 6% of the votes in 3 days (according to polls); I lost 5%! Who won is known. Who thought, organized and financed the whole operation we will all find out from the prosecutors!”, writes Ponta on Facebook.
We remind you that a year ago, Elena Lasconi posted on Facebook a series of photos that she claims are evidence that Nicușor Dan met several times with the former first deputy of the SRI, Florian Coldea. Victor Ponta also appeared in a picture. In none of the three pictures, Dan, Coldea and Ponta appear together.
“The pictures that Elena Lasconi posted are a gross fake. This alleged meeting never took place,” wrote Nicușor Dan on Facebook.
