As reported by the AFP agency, citing its own sources, on the night from Friday to Saturday, Paris police officers foiled an attempted terrorist attack in the center of the French capital. The arrest occurred around 3:30 a.m. when the suspect tried to place an explosive device at the entrance to the Bank of America on rue de la Boetie, in western Paris.

According to information provided by AFP, the detainee had a homemade explosive device on him, which consisted of a five-liter container filled with a liquid, most likely fuel, to which a detonator was attached. The police arrested the man red-handed before he could carry out his plan.
The case is being handled by the anti-terrorism department of the criminal brigade and the Paris Judicial Police, which are investigating the case. The officers have not yet disclosed detailed information about the identity of the detainee or possible motives for his actions.
Investigators analyze the secured materials and check whether the detainee acted alone or was associated with other people or groups.
