Ukrainian Agriculture Minister Assures No Buckwheat Shortage Despite Price Increase

Ukraine’s Agriculture Minister, Mykola Solskyi, has reassured the public that there will be no physical shortage of food products, including buckwheat. He stated that the country has sufficient food reserves for domestic consumption, although there may be temporary disruptions in the supply of certain goods due to damage to distribution centers.
Solskyi emphasized, “We have enough functioning production capacities to meet domestic demand. There is no threat of a physical food shortage. Products will be available in every locality; however, there may be a reduced selection for a period compared to what consumers are accustomed to.”

The minister also assured that there will be no buckwheat shortage, acknowledging that prices could increase in the near future. He noted that production is expected to be similar to last year’s level of over 80,000 tons. Although prices may remain close to current levels, an increase of up to 15% is possible.
