Rostelecom began connecting home digital services in the villages of Yartsevo and Krivlyak, located in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
Thanks to the fiber optic line built by the provider in 2025, local residents for the first time had access to high-speed Internet, interactive television and cloud video surveillance.
The settlements are located on the banks of the Yenisei River, approximately 600 km from Krasnoyarsk. There are about 700 private farmsteads and more than two thousand residents.
“Previously, in Yartsevo and Krivlyak, access to the Internet was possible only through a satellite channel – this technology is optimal when there is no wired alternative,” explained Alexey Usatov, director of the Krasnoyarsk branch of Rostelecom. — Now, thanks to the optical backbone, large-scale prospects for digitalization have opened up. We have already transferred socially significant objects from satellite to optics – schools, village councils, fire services. Now we are connecting private houses.”
Yartsevo was founded four centuries ago. Thanks to its convenient geographical location, shipbuilding actively developed here – in the 18th century, “river” ships were created in the village. Later, Yartsevo became part of the international tourist route, and during the war years a state fish factory was opened here, where local residents procured fish for the front.
Neighboring Krivlyak is much younger than Yartsevo. The village was founded in 1929 as a logging center. This small taiga settlement was glorified by journalist and writer Mikhail Semyonovich Perevozchikov, who in 1991 won a UNESCO prize for the script of the film about the indigenous peoples of Siberia, “Torn from the Fire by the Wind.”
Today, residents of Yartsevo and Krivlyak, like residents of megacities, can use modern digital services. High-speed Internet at speeds of up to 1 Gbit/s allows you not only to view and download content, but also to organize remote work or training. Interactive television Wink makes it possible to watch films, TV series and music concerts in high quality. And cloud video surveillance is convenient for round-the-clock protection of your home and yard.
“The digital transformation of the northern territories of the region significantly improves the living standards of villagers. Fiber optic communication simplifies work processes and ensures that medical and government services are received electronically. These measures are being implemented by the ministry and the federal provider within the framework of the national project “Data Economy” and the regional state program,” said Nikolai Raspopin, Minister of Digital Development of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
