Specialists from anti-drone units sent to the Middle East by Ukraine shot down the first Shahed drones launched by Iran, BBC Ukraine reported.

Shahed-class drones used by Iran to attack countries located on the Persian Gulf were destroyed using Ukrainian-made interceptor drones.
Ukraine sent both interception systems and specialists to operate them to countries in this region. The RBK-Ukraina news agency reported that there are a total of 228 people who carry out tasks, including: in Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Jordan. “When it comes to small air defense, i.e. how to act in the event of massive attacks by the Shaheds, I think no one has experience like we do,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said in a conversation with journalists on Friday.
Ukrainian companies producing unmanned aerial vehicles have received dozens of cooperation proposals from countries in the Persian Gulf region that are interested in purchasing interceptor systems, BBC Ukraine reported. Talks are currently underway about establishing such partnerships with individual countries.
According to information from the Intelligence Online portal, the Ukrainian side is negotiating the transfer of 12 used Mirage 2000-5 aircraft from Qatar in exchange for supplies of anti-drone systems. Earlier, the President of Ukraine declared that Kiev was ready to make such deliveries in exchange for missiles for Patriot anti-aircraft systems.
Airstrikes by Israeli and US forces on Iran have been ongoing since February 28. In response, Tehran attacks Israel and several countries in the Persian Gulf region, hitting both American bases and civilian facilities located there. (PAP)
