A spokesman for the Ministry Sean Parnell confirmed the meeting plans, adding that it would take place in the first half of next week. The plaintiff, however, remains a mystery – not only for public opinion, but also for the invited commanders.
Fears of security and unclear goals of the meeting were not sure about its causes. Only some sources combine a meeting with a new national defense strategy prepared by the Pentagon. According to “WP”, this strategy would move the accents from the competition with China to defend the territory of the United States.

According to Washington Post, the minister's actions include plans to reduce the number of general staff by 20 percent. and the release of some prominent commanders – among them the head of the DIA Military Intelligence Agency.
It is not yet known whether the meeting at Quantico concerns these reforms or maybe completely new strategic moves.
