The Polish Air Navigation Services Agency announced recruitment for the position starting in the second half of this year. a course during which you can obtain the right to practice as an air traffic controller – PANSA announced in a press release. Such training lasts about two years – the training includes theoretical elements such as air traffic management, navigation, meteorology, aircraft construction and aviation law. PANSA indicated that the next stage of training is air traffic control simulator training, and the last one is one-year training at the future workplace. After passing the state examination, the candidate becomes a controller and is placed in operational service.

The announcement shows that Currently, over 600 controllers work at PANSA, and another 170 are in the training process. The controllers, as indicated by the Agency, they serve over 800,000 annually. air operations in Polish airspace, which covers over 334,000 square kilometers

According to the Agency, air traffic controllers are divided into three groups – area controllers work in the operating room at the PANSA Air Traffic Management Center in Warsaw, without visual contact with planes flying over Poland. Planes that land at Polish airports are handled by approach controllers – their task is to bring planes to their destination airports safely and on time, and to direct departing planes to their flight route.

In the immediate vicinity of the airport and on it, controllers working on the towers are responsible for the safe movement of aircraft. The latter are the most numerous – over three hundred.

The Polish Air Navigation Services Agency is the only institution in Poland that trains and employs civilian flight controllers and manages air traffic in our skies. PANSA ensures the safety of aircraft landing and departing from Polish airports, as well as those flying through our country. There are currently over 600 controllers working at the Agency. (PAP)
