Explosions in Dubai and Manama, intense airstrikes in Tehran. Israel strikes the bunker of the Iranian leadership

The war in Iran, which is spreading across the region, entered its second week on Saturday amid renewed uncertainty over how and when hostilities will end, as US President Donald Trump said he would only accept Tehran's “unconditional surrender” and Israel launched new attacks against Iran and Lebanon, Reuters reports.
Trump's comments on social media on Friday came hours after Iran's president announced that unnamed countries had begun mediation efforts, briefly raising the possibility, however slim, of a diplomatic resolution a week after the US and Israel launched attacks on Iran.
Meanwhile, Israel continued to expand its war in Lebanon, bombing Beirut on Friday after ordering an unprecedented evacuation of the entire southern area of the city.
“We sleep here on the streets – some in cars, some on the street, some on the beach,” said Jamal Seifeddin, 43, who fled Beirut's southern suburbs and spent the night on the streets of the city center.
Mehrabad Airport in Tehran, hit in an attack
Israel also launched a new series of attacks on Iran, saying 50 of its warplanes struck a bunker still used by Iran's leadership, located beneath the destroyed compound of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran.
On Saturday morning, Iran's semi-official Tasnim news agency reported that Mehrabad Airport in Tehran had been hit.
Clashes broke out as Israeli forces attempted a landing operation along the Lebanon-Syria border, with Hezbollah saying its fighters were involved, Lebanese official media reported on Saturday, as quoted by The Guardian. The IDF did not comment on the information.
If confirmed, this raid would be the deepest attack by Israeli forces in Lebanon since special unit troops arrested Hezbollah operative Imad Amhaz in the northern city of Batroun in November 2024, reports Agence France Presse.
Explosions in Dubai and the capital of Bahrain
Two explosions were heard Saturday morning in Dubai and one in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, where a warning siren went off, AFP reported.
“Citizens and residents are urged to remain calm and move to the nearest place of safety,” Bahrain's interior ministry wrote on X.
The explosions came as Iran continued its retaliatory attacks against Gulf countries that host US forces.
Dubai authorities previously said a “minor incident” caused by falling debris after an interception had been brought under control.
Explosion in Jerusalem. Israel retaliated
An explosion was heard in Jerusalem on Saturday after air raid sirens warned of an Iranian missile attack, reports AFP.
The Israeli military previously said air defenses were “working to intercept the threat” before calling off the alert.
