Bloody shooting in downtown Austin. The FBI is investigating a terrorist plot

Three people, including the attacker, were killed and 14 wounded in the early hours of Sunday when a gunman opened fire on people at a bar in downtown Austin, Texas. The case is being investigated by the FBI's counterterrorism team.


According to the police, the man first shot at people in front of the bar from the car in which he rolled down the windows. He then got out of the vehicle and started shooting at passers-by with a rifle.
The perpetrator was killed by the services.
– This could potentially be an act of terrorism – said Alex Doran, a representative of the FBI's office in San Antonio, during a press conference.
– Officers immediately arrived from East Six Street to West Six Street and were confronted by an individual with a gun. Three of our officers returned fire, killing the suspect, Liza Davis, the head of this formation in Austin, described the police intervention.
– Our hearts go out to the victims of this tragedy. I would like to again thank the public safety officers and officials who responded to the scene so quickly, Austin Mayor Kirk Watson said during a news conference.
Emergency services transported the injured to hospital. Three of them are in critical condition. (PAP)
