A teenage girl was found unconscious, on Wednesday evening, on a street in the 6th District of the Capital, with the suspicion that she was electrocuted. Firefighters intervened, as a tree was found nearby that fell over the tension wires, which reached the ground.
Judicial sources told HotNews that it is a 16-year-old girl. The incident occurred on Iuliu Maniu Boulevard.
“Today, February 18, 2026, at around 6:00 p.m., the police officers of the General Directorate of Police of the Municipality of Bucharest – Police Section 21 were notified, by calling 112, about the fact that a person had fallen on a street in Sector 6, possibly electrocuted. The police immediately went to the scene, where they identified a minor, aged 16 years old, who was in a state of unconsciousness, showing vital signs”, the Capital Police reported in a statement.
According to the Police, a SMURD crew gave her first aid and later transported her to a medical facility.
“Firefighters also intervened at the scene, as a tree was identified that had fallen over power lines, which were on the ground. The area was delimited and secured by the police, by establishing a safety perimeter and restricting the access of people, until the arrival of a specialized team”, the Police also transmitted.
The girl's family has been informed of her situation.
The investigations are continued by the police officers of the 21st Police Department, under the supervision of the competent prosecutor's office, in order to accurately establish the circumstances in which the incident occurred and to order the necessary legal measures.
