PiS president Jarosław Kaczyński said on Thursday that he had already decided on the party's candidate for prime minister in the next parliamentary elections. – I think that in March this matter will be completely clear – he added.

Kaczyński said on Radio Maryja that he had already chosen the PiS candidate for prime minister.
When asked when we would learn the name, he replied: “I think it's really soon, but we have to count it in weeks.” – I think that in March this matter will be completely clear – said the PiS president.
– I have already made the decision, I have far-reaching rights under the statute (…) but I would like to first confront it with a larger gathering of members of our formation – Kaczyński noted.
He added that the candidate for Prime Minister “must be a candidate who will win the elections, who will even be an electoral locomotive.” – There is someone who seems to meet the requirements that exist today and which concern the possibility of appropriately addressing the right-wing or patriotic electorate – said Kaczyński.
As he added, “it's largely about not having any burdens, at least towards this type of electorate.” – We are fighting for such an electorate, for its most far-reaching unification through Law and Justice – Kaczyński noted.
During the conversation, he also referred to disputes within PiS. Kaczyński argued that his party has been attacked for a long time “by various methods” and in such a situation internal conflicts are completely unacceptable. – Hence my declaration and readiness to implement it – emphasized the PiS president.
– This really needs to end, there will be disputes and there are disputes (…), but in the case of a party like ours, a party that, one could say, operates in a kind of circle (…) the discipline must be special – said Kaczyński.
He added that the basis for these disputes is, among others, the issue of the candidate for prime minister.
Last Friday, Kaczyński addressed PiS members with a warning. “In connection with the recent public statements of some PiS members, I would like to inform you that anyone who takes part in this harmful discussion, regardless of merits and party position, will be suspended from the rights of a PiS member, which will also have an obvious impact on his political future,” Kaczyński wrote on the X platform. He added that such behavior “extremely harms Poland and PiS.”
During an interview on Radio Maryja, the PiS president also said that he does not think that after the split in Poland 2050 there will be a breakdown of the government coalition and early elections. – (And this is) for one reason, please remember that this entire coalition is united by a very strong dislike, I put it mildly, towards Law and Justice, Kaczyński said.
On Wednesday, Minister of Climate and Environment Paulina Hennig-Kloska announced that she and a group of parliamentarians – 15 MPs and 3 senators – were leaving the Poland 2050 club; she added that a new parliamentary club called Centrum would be established. (PAP)
