In 2025, the Krasnoyarsk Railway carried out a major overhaul of 205 km of railway track with the replacement of 61 switches.
The repair campaign covered the territories of three regions – Krasnoyarsk Territory, Kemerovo and Irkutsk regions.
In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the bulk of the work was carried out on the Trans-Siberian Railway. These are sections with intensive train traffic Bogotol – Vagino, Minino – Bugach, Kamarchaga – Balai, Solyanka – Filimonovo, Ilanskaya – Stayny – Sulemka. The tracks at Kozulka and Achinsk stations have also been partially updated.I and Krasnoyarsk Vostochny. In addition, repairs took place on the Abalakovo – Lesosibirsk section of the northern branch of the Krasnoyarsk highway Achinsk – Lesosibirsk.
In the Kemerovo region, work was carried out at the Predmetkino – Suslovo, Tyazhin – Tisul sections, as well as at the Belsu station.
In the Irkutsk region, a major overhaul of the track infrastructure was carried out on the Kvartsit – Tarbinsky section.
At all sections, railway workers carried out a full range of work including dismantling the old track, cleaning the ballast (the embankment of crushed stone on which the track is laid), straightening and laying a new rail and sleeper grid.
In general, more than 100 pieces of equipment were involved in the repair and travel campaign. Including specialized machines: laying cranes, leveling, tamping, straightening and crushed stone cleaning machines, electric ballasters.
Planned overhauls make it possible to increase the reliability of the infrastructure and increase the speed of freight and passenger trains. In all updated sections, a modern continuous continuous track on a reinforced concrete base was laid. Trains run smoothly along it, without noise or vibration. This creates more comfortable conditions for passengers while traveling.
