1 spoon in a watering can – large and sweet grapes: the very first feeding in the summer

If you grow grapes in one place year after year, the soil inevitably becomes poorer. Without additional nutrition, the vine will not be able to grow normally and produce good harvests. Grapes need three main elements: nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. And also microelements.

Not every gardener can immediately calculate exactly how much nutrition a bush needs for a good harvest. Therefore, it is necessary to feed the plants on time and correctly. The author of the Zen channel “From the garden to the table” (12+) spoke about important fertilizers.

The most important feeding of the season

To get the maximum berries, during this period it is worth combining root and foliar nutrition.

One spoon of ammonium nitrate with trace elements is diluted in a liter of hot water. Stir and pour into a 12-liter watering can. Half a spoon of potassium magnesia is dissolved in a liter of water, mixed again and added to the same watering can. Half a teaspoon of boric acid is diluted in a liter of hot water, ensuring complete dissolution, and also poured into a watering can. Then add water to the top.

Before applying fertilizer, be sure to water the vine well with plain water.

It is most convenient to carry out the root feeding itself through drainage pipes – then the nutrient solution goes directly to the roots. If there are no pipes, make holes about 20 cm deep on both sides of the bush at a distance of 50–80 cm and pour fertilizer into it. One 12-liter bucket of the finished mixture is required per vine.

For foliar feeding you will need:

  • half a tablespoon of urea;
  • a tablespoon of superphosphate;
  • half a tablespoon of potassium sulfate;
  • half a teaspoon of boric acid.

Each component is dissolved separately in hot water. Then the solutions are filtered, poured into a sprayer and water is added to 10 liters. Spray the bushes in the evening, after sunset.

“After three days, I spray the bushes with the preparation “Ovary” for better berry set. I dilute the preparation according to the instructions. To feed the grapes in the summer, you can use complex fertilizers Mortar or Aquarin. Use them according to the instructions,” the summer resident shares.
