During the event, psychologist, trainer and human rights expert Lyudmila Protsenko explained how a combination of planning and organizing space through family routines and rituals helps improve the emotional state of parents and children, reduce daily stress levels and restore a sense of control over one’s life.
The Rinat Akhmetov Foundation has collected practical tips for parents and guardians that contribute to more effective time management in the family.
Time planning
Having a clear but realistic plan for the day helps reduce chaos and tension in the family. It is important to consider not only responsibilities, but also time for communication, rest and emotional contact with the child.
Plan your day with your child
Involving children in planning (even as simple as “What do we do after school?”) develops responsibility and reduces conflict. The child better perceives the rules that he helped create.
Recovery planning
Regular recovery breaks—even short ones—help prevent burnout. This could be a mini-vacation, a weekend with nothing to do, or a planned time without gadgets and external stimuli.
Introduce family routines and rituals
Repeated activities (getting ready in the morning, afternoon tea, reading together before bed) give children a sense of security and predictability and give adults structure and less chaos during the day.
Space for the child and space for the parents
It is important that each family member has his own personal space – physical or symbolic. This helps maintain boundaries, respect for each other and emotional balance in the family.
