Ilie Bolojan asked the Sheikh of the Emirates for support in the Romanian crisis in the Middle East

Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan had a telephone conversation on Friday with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the United Arab Emirates, during which he requested support for facilitating the flight lanes necessary for the operation of Romanian airlines, so that Romanian citizens can return home safely, the Victoria Palace announced on Friday.

The conversation took place in the spirit of friendship and cooperation between Romania and the United Arab Emirates, according to a statement sent by the Government.

“The Prime Minister expressed his full solidarity with the Emirati people in the context of the current security developments in the Middle East that have also affected the United Arab Emirates. He sent a message of support and wished for strength and resilience to overcome these difficult moments,” the Government representatives stated in the statement.

At the same time, the prime minister personally thanked Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and the local authorities for the support given to Romanian citizens who live, work or are tourists in the United Arab Emirates.

“Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan requested the support of the United Arab Emirates to facilitate the flight lanes necessary for the operation of Romanian airlines, so that Romanian citizens can return home safely. The two leaders agreed to continue cooperation and coordination to identify the best solutions to support Romanian citizens in the region”, the Government also states in the press release.
