A criminal case was opened against a 16-year-old resident of Krasnoyarsk for illegal use of a subscriber terminal for traffic transmission or a virtual telephone exchange. This was reported to the Investigative Committee and the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

It was established that in December 2025, the teenager, in correspondence with users of one of the instant messengers, entered into a criminal conspiracy with them aimed at committing fraudulent actions by placing the “Sim-box” software and hardware complex. In December 2025, the guy received the equipment by delivery and placed it at his place of residence on Kurchatov Street in Krasnoyarsk.
“The complex was used remotely by unidentified persons, whose identity is being established by the investigation. The teenager ensured the constant functioning of the device, for which he received a daily monetary reward,” the Investigative Committee said.
The suspect in aiding the scammers was detained by police officers and found that the young man was fully aware of the criminal nature of his actions.

According to Part 3 of Art. 274.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the teenager and his as yet uncaught accomplices face imprisonment for up to 6 years. The investigation is ongoing.
