Specialists from Krasnoyarsk Rospotrebnadzor advised residents of the region how to properly use cutting boards in the kitchen.

If used incorrectly, a cutting board can cause the spread of various infections. Therefore, keeping it clean is an integral part of maintaining kitchen hygiene.

Experts advise housewives to have a set of boards of different colors. This way you can assign a specific color to each product group. For example, meat, fish, cheese, bread, vegetables and fruits.

After each use, the boards must be thoroughly washed with hot water and detergent and dried well. Inspect the boards regularly and replace them, as deep damage is an ideal breeding ground for bacteria. It is also better to ensure their separate storage, using a special box, stand, and if there are holes in the handle, then hang them on the railing.

It is recommended to store boards away from sinks, sinks and other sources of moisture. Avoid placing boards near a stove or other heating appliances, as sudden changes in temperature can cause cracking and warping, especially for wooden boards.
