Krasnoyarsk will celebrate the 82nd anniversary of the lifting of the siege of Leningrad

Today, January 27, events will be held in Krasnoyarsk in honor of the complete liberation of Leningrad from the fascist blockade. The program was announced at the mayor's office.

At 14:30 at the children's cinema “Dream” there will be a special screening of the feature film “Karuza”. According to the plot of the film, little Mitya gets a dog named Karuza, but then the war begins, Leningrad finds itself under siege, people die of hunger. Then Karuza, now an adult, strong and smart dog, begins to get food for the residents. Inspired by her courage, Mitya decides to help, but one day during a dangerous sortie they are discovered by the Germans. Admission is free, but the number of places is limited.

At 16:00 at the Vector youth center (Metallurgov Ave., 22a) the film “Kronstadt. Blockade. Children. 80 years since the complete lifting of the siege of Leningrad.” The film is based on archival materials, diaries and eyewitness memories; it talks about the courage, hardships and everyday feats of people and the role of the city of Kronstadt during the siege.

During the day from 09:00 to 17:00 Students and teachers of school No. 45 will recreate one of the most dramatic episodes of the beginning of the war on the territory of the Krasnoyarsk Car Repair Plant. Participants will immerse viewers in the atmosphere of Leningrad in 1941 with a guided tour in a carriage. They will repeat the life of evacuated children, miniatures from life, stories of losses and miraculous rescues, eyewitness accounts and personal stories of those rescued, and the “Siege Bread” campaign. Excursions will be held for pre-registered educational organizations.

Besides, January 28 at 15:00 in the assembly hall of the administration of the Sverdlovsk district (street 60 let Oktyabrya, 46) a youth creative and patriotic concert “January Thunder” will take place. Admission is free, but registration is required via the link.

Let us remember that the siege of Leningrad lasted 872 days. The city was surrounded on September 8, 1941, and was completely liberated only on January 27, 1944. Finding themselves surrounded by enemy troops, Leningraders not only survived terrible hunger, cold, death of loved ones and destruction, but also continued to resist the enemy.
