Banks must warn Krasnoyarsk residents about blocking transactions and cards

In Russia, banks should proactively and clearly inform customers about blocking and steps to lift restrictions. The regulator sent such recommendations to credit institutions.
If the bank suspends operations, blocks cards and remote services, it must immediately send the client an SMS or push notification. Explain on the basis of what law the blocking occurred and what a person needs to do to remove it.
“Even when online transactions are blocked, the client must still have access to the mobile application and personal account on the website so that he can contact the bank,” says information on the Financial Culture portal of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.
Now many banks act without warning and after blocking the client has to find out for himself what happened and why. However, contact with the bank can only be made via the hotline or at a branch.
Let us remind you that money can be blocked for three reasons: if funds are suspected of being withdrawn by fraudsters, money laundering and violation of tax laws.
In the first case, the bank can block the card if it receives data about the client from the Central Bank database and this information is entered according to law enforcement agencies. When money laundering is suspected, the person is usually disconnected from the mobile bank and refused to carry out the suspicious transaction. In case of tax violations, transactions on the account are suspended.
