Avangarde poll: What do Romanians think about the foreign policy of President Nicușor Dan / Surprising result regarding Trump's Peace Council

Almost half of those surveyed declare themselves “dissatisfied” or “very dissatisfied” with the foreign policy pursued by President Nicușor Dan, according to a barometer published on Sunday by Avangarde. Seven out of ten Romanians say that the president should have gone to the Davos Economic Forum that took place this week.
- The survey was conducted by Avangarde during January 22-23 using the CATI method on a sample of 820 people over 18 years old. The maximum sampling error is 3.3% at the 95% confidence level.
What Romanians say about the absence of Nicușor Dan from Davos
Almost 69% of Romanians say that President Nicușor Dan should go to the Economic Forum in Davos this week. On Saturday, in a press statement, the head of state specified that before going to various external events, we must have prepared strategies, “not to go to Davos for the world to see us there”.

Dissatisfaction with foreign policy
When asked about the foreign policy of President Nicușor Dan, most Romanians say they are “dissatisfied” (34%), “neither satisfied nor dissatisfied” (25%), “very dissatisfied” (21%), “satisfied” (14%).

Romania is among the states invited to join the Peace Council. President Nicușor Dan said for now that he is still thinking. The condition for a permanent seat on this board is the payment of a sum of 1 billion dollars. PSD President Sorin Grindeanu requested that Romania pay this amount.
Questioned on this topic in the Avangarde survey, most Romanians said “yes” (44%), while 36% oppose it.

Six out of ten Romanians say that NATO will intervene if Russia attacks Romania militarily, while 27% are pessimistic, according to the Avangarde survey.

Trust in institutions
NATO is the international institution in which Romanians have the most trust (62%), followed by the UN (50%) and the European Union (50%).
