The United States has not been involved in Israeli attacks on Iran, President Donald Trump said on Friday morning.
The US president said at Fox News that he was aware of the attacks before they took place, but clarified that the US Army had no role in the operation. He reiterated that he hopes Iran will continue the US negotiations on limiting his nuclear program.
“Iran cannot have a nuclear bomb and we hope to return to the negotiation table. We will see,” he told Fox News.
“There are several people in the leadership who will not return,” Trump said. The president also stated that the US confirmed that several Iranian leaders died.
He also said that his administration contacted a key ally in the Middle East before the attack to inform him, but did not specify what the country is about.
According to an announcement of the White House, Donald Trump will attend today, June 13, at a meeting of the National Security Council, reports Reuters.
The explosions were heard to the northeast of Tehran on Friday morning, and the Israeli army confirmed that he had attacks on some nuclear sites in Iran.
