— A step towards the reconstruction of a democratic Venezuela is the clear recognition of the results of the elections of July 28, 2024, said Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia on Friday in a telephone conversation with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, whose statement was quoted by AFP.
“Venezuela needs a real transformation, and for this to happen, it is necessary to release all political prisoners, end persecution, disarm paramilitary groups and respect the will of the people expressed on July 28,” the oppositionist himself wrote in an entry on the X website.
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced that “Spain supports peaceful, democratic changes in Venezuela, achieved through dialogue and led by Venezuelans themselves.”
