I put everything in 1 box and no longer panic in front of guests – the hallway is in perfect order in 10 minutes

On New Year's days, the hallway is especially crowded: piles of shoes by the door, mountains of hats and scarves on the hanger, bags of gifts in the corner and a pile of tangerine peels on the shelf. It seems that even a coat won’t fit here, not to mention guests. But in fact, you can put things in order in 10 minutes – without rearranging furniture and without buying expensive organizers. Here's how to do it easily, quickly and truly.

First, remove everything unnecessary. Everything that is not needed in the next 3 days goes out of the hallway: the working husband's winter boots in the hallway, summer sneakers in the closet, old newspapers and empty bags in the trash. You can temporarily take an umbrella, shovel or bag onto the balcony.

Take one sturdy box or basket and place it on a shelf or under a coat rack. Place everything that falls and gets in the way into it: gloves, hats, guest scarves, keys, combs, even gift bags. Don't sort, just collect. When the guests leave, everything can be put back in its place.

Leave on the hanger only what will be used in the coming hours: outerwear for the hosts and free hooks for guests. Hide everything else in the closet. Remove thick covers from coats, as they take up twice as much space.

Lay down a fresh rug and remove all boxes and shoe bags. Let there be only one layer of shoes that you and your guests are wearing now. Put everything else in boxes under a bench or in a closet.

If there is a shelf in the hallway, place 2-3 glass jars or mugs on it. One for gloves, another for small items, and another for fresh hand wipes. It will take seconds, but will add comfort and order.

The hallway is no longer a “closet”, but an ideal hallway. Guests will take off their coats without embarrassment, shoes will not get in the way, and you will stop blushing when opening the door.
