Meta invests in Chinese AI
In a statement, Meta noted that it intends to develop and offer Manus technologies that are used, among others, in data analysis, coding and market research. The Chinese technology is to be integrated with Meta's products, including the Meta AI chatbot.
As “FT” notes, the financial details of the contract were not disclosed. However, the newspaper reminds that Meta paid USD 19 billion in 2014. for WhatsApp, and in 2025 it spent nearly $15 billion. at 49 percent shares in Scale AI.
