The assailant, identified as the second pilot, is a citizen of Oman, while the captain holds Emirati nationality, according to Israeli Channel 9.
Initial findings suggest that the second pilot attacked the captain with a knife, allegedly in an attempt to take his own life and potentially jeopardize the aircraft. Fortunately, the situation was contained by additional pilot crew members on board, who were flying as passengers. They were able to regain control of the plane and safely landed it following the incident.
