Over the past weekend, traffic police inspectors in Krasnoyarsk detained 61 drunk drivers. This was reported by the press service of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the region.
“Among the detained violators were five motorists who had previously been brought to administrative responsibility for drunk driving. Now they face criminal prosecution under Art. 264.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Also, 8 motorists who did not have a driver’s license were detained and excluded from traffic, who allowed themselves to get behind the wheel while intoxicated,” clarified in the traffic police.
Administrative materials have been filed against the offenders for drunk driving. They face a fine of 45 thousand rubles, as well as deprivation of their driver’s license for up to two years.
Drivers who repeatedly drive while intoxicated will face criminal liability.
