“Great meeting in a great location.” Zelensky announced the results of his negotiations with Trump


According to Zelensky, there was “a wonderful meeting in a wonderful place.”

“We had an excellent discussion on all topics. I want to appreciate the progress that the American and Ukrainian teams have shown in recent weeks,” he said.

The President of Ukraine noted that he and the US President discussed “all aspects” of the peace agreement.

“There are indeed significant achievements. We have 90% agreed on the 20-point “peace plan”. We have also almost completely agreed on security issues from a European point of view. Military support is 100% supported. We are also discussing the sequence of further steps,” Zelensky said.

According to him, there is agreement that “security guarantees are the key, cornerstone in ensuring long-term peace.”

“Our teams will continue to work on all aspects,” Zelensky emphasized.

Context

Negotiations between Trump and Zelensky at the Mar-a-Lago residence were supposed to last about an hour, but lasted over two hours.

At the beginning of the meeting with Zelensky, Trump said that negotiations to resolve the war started in Ukraine by the aggressor country of the Russian Federation are at the final stage. According to him, if an agreement is concluded, Ukraine will quickly receive “tremendous economic benefits.”

Before the negotiations with Zelensky, Trump spoke on the phone with the illegitimate Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Kremlin said they expect one more call following negotiations in the USA.
