Knife attack in Paris. Three women are injured


The attacks occurred at three stations on the same metro line in the city center in the afternoon, the Paris public transport operator (RATP) told AFP. Two victims were taken to hospital “without life-threatening injuries” and the third took himself to the hospital, police said.

The suspected perpetrator, a 25-year-old man, was identified “thanks to surveillance footage” and arrested “late afternoon in Val-d'Oise, northwest of Paris,” police said. An investigation was launched into attempted murder and armed robbery.
The suspect is a Mali national staying illegally in the country and known to the police for destroying property under the influence of drugs. He was tried for robbery and sexual assault and was released from prison in July with a deportation order. He was hiding from the police.
