The investments were taken from the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). As a result of the change, the eligibility period for the entire Health Program has been extended from December 31, 2029 to December 31, 2030.

The medical units that will benefit from this funding are: Oradea County Emergency Hospital, Alba Iulia County Emergency Hospital, Timişoara Regional Oncology Institute, Bacău County Emergency Hospital, Argeş County Emergency Hospital, Vaslui County Emergency Hospital, Giurgiu County Emergency Hospital, “Dr. Ion Jianu” Military Emergency Hospital from Pitesti and the Emergency Hospital “Prof. Dr. Dimitrie Gerota” from Bucharest, according to Agerpres.

Also, within the components financed by ESF+ (the European Social Fund Plus, the main instrument of the European Union for investments in people, social inclusion and employment) a new measure for reproductive health will be introduced, worth 16.1 million euros, intended to support in vitro fertilization treatments for vulnerable groups.

The hospitals were selected by the Romanian authorities and were prioritized according to the stage of implementation, the objective being to improve the population's access to essential medical services and quality care.
